About Us

The riding holidays were set up in 1987 by Stephany and Amanda with the help of Margaret and David November who kindly loaned their farm. The riding holidays came about somewhat by accident, as Stephany had been given so many horses in her capacity as remedial horse trainer that she was unable to support them by going out to work and decided they had to earn their own living. The holidays soon became very popular with a 70% repeat booking allowing us to purchase High Bullen, our present location in 1994.

The holidays are now run by Stephany, Amanda and Liz who do their best to ensure their guests feel really at ease by offering fun informal rides, traditional home cooking and a relaxed atmosphere. All of us at High Bullen are committed to doing the best for our horses and to helping our guests get the maximum enjoyment from being around these wonderful creatures. We do our best to help horse and rider understand each other, in order that they can both fully enjoy their time together.

These holidays are dedicated to the memory of Puffin and Rambler, two of the most misunderstood and noblest of horses who were given me as un-rideable, yet who gave so many people so much fun and pleasure.
