Without balance it very difficult to control the horse and feel safe whilst riding. Without being able to feel the horses steps it is difficult to gain a useful amount of control over direction and speed. Without technique it is almost impossible to get the horse to understand what we want it to do. Our course may include lunge lessons to promote the riders balance, skills designed to help the rider feel the horses footfalls and methods to find the techniques needed for the horse to understand the riders commands.
Everything you might need to know about the care of the horse and then some. How to care for the horse stabled, out at grass, handling, feeding, rugging, grooming, tacking up, mounting correctly, averting problems out riding, recognising ailments, bandaging, understanding horse behaviour, how to deal with a young, nervous or pushy horse, how to listen to your horse and helping them to work with you happily.
